A successful event organized by the Vazzoler-Dumont Team
The Vazzoler-Dumont team was very pleased with the turnout for their May 9 speaker event at the Plaza Rive-Sud in La Prairie. More than 170 people came out for the evening.
Guests were invited to listen to Louis Vazzoler, MBA, CIM®, Investment Advisor and Portfolio Manager, and Michel Doucet, BSc, CIM®, Vice-President and Portfolio Manager at Desjardins Securities, discuss economic trends and market opportunities. It was a relaxed affair, and the speakers weren’t afraid to inject a bit of humour into the market knowledge they were there to share.
“We got some good feedback and had a really great turnout overall,” said Louis Vazzoler, Portfolio Manager and organizer of the event. “We’re very happy with how the evening went!”
Speakers:
Louis Vazzoler holds a financial services MBA from ESG UQAM and a bachelor’s in business administration and marketing from UQAM. He also holds the esteemed Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute and has been working in the financial services industry since 1999. Before joining Desjardins Securities, he worked as a branch manager and sales director for a major Canadian financial institution. He was also vice-president of sales and marketing for one of Canada’s largest private wealth management companies. As a portfolio manager at Desjardins Securities, Louis’s role is implementing investment strategies.
Michel Doucet is an economist by trade with more than 25 years in the securities industry. He’s been a vice-president with the full-service brokerage team at Desjardins Securities since 2004, where he serves as a fixed-income strategist, economist and portfolio manager.
Before joining Desjardins, Michel was an economist and market analyst on the institutional equities and fixed income team at Lévesque Beaubien Geoffrion, which later became National Bank Financial. Over the years, Michel has worked on projects involving the North American and international economy, Canadian public finance and the capital markets. In 1996, the team of institutional economists he worked with was named #1 in Canada by Brendan Wood International.
